Casa Sperimentale

Casa Sperimentale sits in the pine woods near Fregene, on the coast near Rome. It was built in the 1960s by the architect Giuseppe Perugini as a prototype house, its interlocking concrete cubes designed to be rearranged as the needs of its inhabitants changed. It was never finished the way he intended. Decades of neglect have left it stripped back to bare concrete, its glass gone, its walls layered with graffiti, the forest closing back in around it.
