Casa Sperimentale (2)

Casa Sperimentale, the experimental house Giuseppe Perugini built in Fregene in the late 1960s, was designed as a prototype for a new kind of living space — interlocking, moveable concrete cubes that could be rearranged as its occupants' needs changed.

This closer view shows what decades of exposure have done to Perugini's vision: weathered concrete, broken glass, graffiti layered over graffiti. The house built to adapt to its occupants now bears the marks of a different kind of use entirely.
